I love my bike “ Shelly” and we ride virtually through Germany, France, England, Italy—all places I have visited with John when he was alive. I have 4 grown children and 11 amazing grandchildren. Most recently I adopted a rescue dog named Holly.

I have been with Empowering People since July 2012. I enjoy working with the DDA population and have a special place in my heart for our elderly clients. When I was a child, I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up, I became an RN who educates. The best of both worlds – education and nursing.
Kathy Carlson RN
I have been a nurse since 1982, first as an LPN, then on for my RN, which I obtained in 1983. I chose nursing for a profession due to the unlimited amount of learning that it offers. I have worked in many areas of nursing, Chemical Dependency, ICU, Med Surg. Neuros, Long Term care, and today Home Health. Each its own entity, and all have been great learning experiences. I have been working with Empowering People for 3 years.

Danielle Brixey RN
I have been a registered nurse for 30 years – my professional love has been home healthcare. I also worked in healthcare for 5 years prior to that, primarily as an aide in several different settings. My high school sweetheart and I have been married for nearly 45 years and he is still my sweetheart. We have two fantastic sons who each had the good sense to marry a lovely woman, bringing two wonderful additions to our family circle. The best part of this life are our four grandchildren who are absolutely the most loving, talented, smartest, cutest, funniest – you get the picture! I’m a quilter as well and participate in quilt therapy daily to keep myself grounded.
