Michelle Brittain

Michelle graduated from WSU in 2004 with a BS in nursing. She has been practicing 7 years. Her specialty field is cardiac nursing. Michelle works with Family Home care and is a supplemental RN for Empowering People. We have been fortunate to have her as an addition to the Empowering People delegation staff nurse body for a little over a year. The future of excellent nursing is protected with nurses like Michelle.

Val graduated from WSU and Intercollegiate Nursing Center. She has been a nurse for 38 years. She has 25 years experience in cardiology. Val is a native Spokanite, having grown up and attended school in Deer Park. She has lived in Anchorage Alaska, Seattle, and in Spokane since 1991. She has one son who is attending SCC. Val has been with Empowering People for 6+ years and has taught Fundamentals of Caregiving, Nurse Delegation and Insulin Specialty courses and Dementia.
Nora Laughlin

Nora graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington with a BSN in Nursing. Her Registered nursing diploma was obtained at Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, Washington. She is also an adjunct teacher at Spokane Falls Community College and taught the I-BEST program for many years at that facility. Nora has been a registered nurse for 42 years. As a young bride, Nora worked as a caregiver in Omaha Nebraska. Nora has 4 grown children, 9 amazing grandchildren and is married to John Laughlin, the love of her life. Nora has taught Fundamentals of Caregiving, Nurse Delegation, Nurse Delegation Specialty Focus on Diabetes, Dementia, Mental Health, HIV AIDS, CPR First AIDE and has written a curriculum for the 48 hour course. Nora considers her specialty areas to be geriatrics, and education. Nora is one of the founding members of Empowering People.
Lori May-Kenney

Lori May-Kenney RN has been in nursing for 32 years. 29 of those years involved in long term care settings such as Skilled Nursing facilities and Adult Family Homes. Lori was Director of Nursing Services of Skilled Nursing facilites for 15 years in Southern California. She has been a Nationally Certified Director of Nursing since 1995. Lori opened her own Adult Family Home in Nine Mile Falls in 2004. Lori is Geriatric Certified though UW for her AFH. She has been doing teaching and consulting with the Washington State Care Council of AFH's for the past 2 years. Lori is a board member of both the Spokane chapter and the State Wide WSRCC organization. She has been doing Nurse Delegation for the last 6 years. Lori is married to Joe who is an RN at the VAMC in Spokane. They have 4 grown children, two currently in college here, one at EWU and the other at WSU.

I am owner and manager of Empowering People and have enjoyed running the Billing and Education scheduling department for the past 10 years. I am Lisa Green, My husband and I have three children ranging in age from 17-22. My full time job is case manager for Catholic Charities Childbirth and parenting Assistance program. I am the daughter of Nora and John Laughlin owners and managers of Empowering People Inc. I have been support staff to the Billing and Education department for Empowering people for the past year. I am available to help with any billing issues and education questions you may have. I look forward to assisting you in anyway possible.

A Brief Biographical: Nancy L. Edison
Nancy has a varied work career. Self employed almost all her career dance teacher with her own dance studio until she enrolled in college in 1968.
BS U of Idaho 1974
After college,1974-1984. Worked in the alcohol and drug addiction recovery field in Idaho and Washington. She has worked with teens, adults and families as a counselor and education specialist providing community outreach, education and consulting. She has worked in state and private agencies. When she began her private practice she left the position of Family Treatment Coordinator/Counselor in a Spokane outpatient agency, Colonial Clinic.
Nancy is in her 27th year in her diverse private practice. In the beginning her practice was primarily with women addressing the non-chemical addictions i.e. codependency, relationship, food to name a few. Through this work she began incorporating massage helping women to deal with body image, recovery from abusive relationships, repression and self awareness to learn self nurturance and live enrichment. Her practice and further education in mindfulness has deepened her practice in helping others.
Other Training:
-Nancy received training in meditation in 1973 while in college.
-5 Years in training and practice with Anne Wilson Schaf, Internationally recognized leader and author in issues of society and addiction. Began her practice at the regional professional trained in Living in Process with Anne Wilson Schaf offering groups and intensives.
-Training and Leadership role with the Oceanic Foundation based in Boulder, Colorado for 6 years in the Living the Truth Teachings.
-Leadership training and 5 years as a volunteer with Landmark Education.
-On-going training in various body/mind integration modalities.
